(This play was written for my eighth grade english class. It was performed in front them and it was hillarious. I hope you enjoy it as much as my old classmates did.)

NARRATOR: The following preformance is about one medieval kingdom.

The actors are:
Matt Wiggins as King Malcolm
Jimmy Genna as Lord Luther
Kevin Pillar as Prince Jeremy
Crystal Thomas as Princess Merial

We join the prince and princess walking though a flower garden.

PRINCE JEREMY:
(Sits down on brick wall)
Merial?

PRINCESS MERIAL: Yes
(sits down next to him on wall)

PRINCE JEREMY: What do you think about marriage?
(turns toward her with a mischievous look in his eyes)

PRINCESS MERIAL: Jeremy,don't be silly. We're only sixteen and we shouldn't be thinking about that.
(turns away from him and blushes)

PRINCE JEREMY: But why can't we?
(puts his hand on her shoulder)
Why can't I ask you to marry me?

PRINCESS MERIAL: Because we shouldn't Jeremy. My father says not to.

ACT 2

NARRATOR: Meanwhile, at the castle, Lord Luther and King Malcolm get into an argument over thier children's friendship.

KING MALCOLM: I will not have my daughter be seen with your son!
(throws cup across the room)

LORD LUTHER: But, sire, they've known each other for years. You can't just tear them now.
(trembles as he speaks)

KING MALCOLM: I will tear them apart, I will.
(looks sternly at the lord)
I will not have the son of a lord marry my daughter!
(pounds both fists on table)

ACT 3

NARRATOR: After King Malcolm and Lord Luther fought, the lord goes to get Jeremy and take him to the kingdom of King Martin.

PRINCESS MERIAL: Jeremy, it's your father.
(jumps off wall)

PRINCE JEREMY: He shouldn't be here.
(jumps off wall)
He should be with the King.

LORD LUTHER: Jeremy, say goodbye to Merial. This will the last time you ever see her agian.

PRINCE JEREMY: What do you mean by last time?

LORD LUTHER: What I mean is that we will no longer be apart of this kingdom.

PRINCESS MERIAL: Oh Jeremy! Daddy kicked you out, I'll never see you again.
(she bursts into tears and runs into the castle)
